For the last several years I have concentrated Arcadia Park Designs as a pillow company – design, construction, learning about the decorative pillow market, learning about PR, Marketing, Sales etc. for a high end luxury home decor product. And it has been fascinating and captivating and a lot of great things…. and it has taken me away from the studio. So after a lot of soul searching and confusion, Arcadia Park Designs returns to what it has always been in my heart… my studio. I create a lot of things from fine art to home decor and I wake up every morning with more ideas than I know what to do with. The day I made this decision I questioned EVERYTHING, I mourned the loss of something I never really had a grasp of and then felt the weight of uncertainty lift.
When people asked me what I did, I said I had a pillow company. …. But the authentic me says, I am an artist and designer. I do a lot of things, but the idea that I had a pillow company always left me trying to explain myself. When you are your authentic self you can discuss many things about what you do, but you don’t feel the need to explain yourself. So it is with great pleasure that I return to my studio and follow my dreams.
The work will always be available, there will be many projects to explore … but I am not taking another online workshop on marketing or pr or where I am supposed to be, what color I am supposed to use, how to get people to click or convert clicks into carts and carts into sales. I think the people who like my work or want my pillows, or cards, or candleholders, or bronze vases or fine art prints… will contact me and say hi and we will have a human discussion about the next step.
