We have finally found a wonderful source of responsibly collected, clean and eco-friendly down from Canada…
The stuff is gorgeous and some makers of luxury bedding that we truly admire are using this down in their comforters.
However, at least for the foreseeable future for the myriad reasons we have discussed before …we won’t be using it!
Down makes sense for a comforter or a coat, where the nearly unparallelled warmth factor per ounce is important.
We make decorative hypoallergenic pillows…
Our pillows have “chop factor”, can be fluffed into shape when appropriate,
they have wonderful density and weight, they are hypo-allergenic and remain an eco-friendly US sourced option.
They are designed and printed in the studio of the artist and we are constantly adding new imagery and colorways.
They are, alas, not particularly warming. No warmth, fill factor (or btu) numbers on these babies!

we have to say, “that is an artful, luxury faux-down pillow” and that still works for us!
Hey… we were just told by some green conscious friends that our hypoallergenic pillows are Vegan-Friendly!
That made us happy!
They are also Gluten, Soy, Dairy and Sugar Free!
So now we are just being silly, but the point is that we aren’t jumping on the down bandwagon simply because everyone else is doing it.
There are sound reasons for choosing a dietary path that works for you, but what are the reasons for stripping a bird of it’s warming feathers for a pillow?
Nope, we couldn’t think of any either.
